Public Darkrooms?
Hello all--
I am wondering if there is any such thing as public darkrooms in richmond? I took photography in highschool and since graduating three years ago have been wanting terribly to be able to print again. I know that in Northern Virginia some Rec. Centers offered public darkrooms, and was curious if anyone knew of this or a studio space/ art center that has darkrooms, regardless if you must be taking a class or not to use them. Thanks!

My birthday is tomorrow, and I'd like to go out and have a good time with a small group of friends. I've been searching through the archives, but I wanted to know if anyone knew of any fun events going down tomorrow night?

I know it's the night before New Years, but I'd still like to make a stop at a bar or two to celebrate--anyone know of any places that have karaoke on Wednesday nights? I found one of the posts that had a list, but it's from a year or so ago.

Do you have any recommendations for a place in Richmond (or Chesterfield, ideally) where one can get hair retwisted? This google search shows examples of the hairstyle I refer to.

Hi everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the holidays! I am posting this entry because I currently live and work in Emporia, but am hoping to move up to Petersburg and commute. Right now, I have my eye on two apartment buildings in Petersburg. One of the buildings is owned by Main Street Realty, and the other is owned by Plum Street Partners, LLC. I know that both of these companies own properties in Richmond, so I was wondering if any of you had any experiences with these companies? Good or bad? Would you recommend? Thank you for your help!

Leather repair locally?
I've got a leather jacket that got torn at a pocket some time ago, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for leather repair in Richmond? When I look on google maps I find a few places/tailors, but no reviews. So if anyone had any experiences or favorites, that would be extremely helpful!

so, i need to take the mudflaps off my car because the right one is screwed up. i messed it up or something and now it grinds on my right front tire when i turn right. it's great.
anyway... can someone suggest me a place that can take off 1 tire and unscrew a mudflap? it's not a hard task but idk how to take off a tire.

Christmas lights
Ok, so tomorrow night my friend and I are going to drive around and check out the purty christmas lights. My question to y'all is where are the good displays at this year? Yes I'm aware of the tacky lights website but in my opinion it's not very user friendly and most of the houses on the site don't have pics or realistic numbers. they all say 20,000. We will be starting out from VCU/Hell block so any nice ones around that area as well as the huge displays in the counties.

Massages
I'd like to buy a gift package at a local massage parlor, but I'm not familiar with any of them. Can anyone recommend a good massage for relieving work related stress? Any specific comments on either Art of Massage or Institute of Massage Therapies? Thanks!

Landlord/tennant question
I live on the first floor of a duplex, and the owner lives upstairs. Am I at all responsible for shoveling the shared steps/porch/sidewalk or is that his responsibility to do or pay somebody to do? The apartment is rented through a management company run by my landlord's relatives who take care of the business end of his various properties, but I don't know how they handle things at properties where the owner doesn't live. I get frustrated because, while I like my landlord, he's a bit of a hermit. I have to get out to go to work, and I also interact with the neighbors (who are mainly owners of single family houses) who expect me to shovel and rake, etc. the way they do--but I'm just renting an apartment.

I have been taking care of snow and leaves to some extent, but I'm curious to know if I'm really responsible for it. Does anybody know the rules?
